What is this offer?

  • $3,200 for households in Chicago
    • The money will be distributed quarterly over 24 months. 
    • You can use it however you wish and you do not have to pay it back.
  • The offer is available for up to 500 households

What are the requirements to receive this offer?

To receive this offer, you must:

  1. Live in Chicago
  2. Be a part of an UpTogether group
  3. Connect your accounts in UpTogether’s Financials section
  4. Complete all surveys on UpTogether for the duration of the 24 months
  5. Give permission for the City of Chicago to have access to your personally identifiable information 

How will I know if I received the offer? 

Selected households will see the offer in the “offer” section of the UpTogether Financials section. They will also be notified about this offer via the contact method they used when signing up (email or text message). If you would like to opt out of receiving funds, you can terminate your contract.

How are households going to be selected?

Selection is on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 500 families who meet the requirements will receive the funds . Families have one week from the time the offer posts on UpTogether to terminate the contract..

How much money can I access?

The cash offer is $3,200 distributed in eight payments of $400 over 24 months. Payments are distributed on January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1 of 2021 and 2022. 

How do I receive the money? 

It’s up to you! The money will be deposited into your UpTogether Personal Fund Account. When you withdraw the money, you have the option of receiving the cash through a direct deposit right into your bank account or a physical or digital UpTogether Card. How does this cash offer affect my public benefits?

Why wasn’t this cash offer made available to me?

This offer is shared on a first-come, first-served basis with everyone whose UpTogether profile has a Chicago address and who is also a part of an UpTogether group. If you did not receive the offer, it may be because you did not meet those requirements or because 500 households have already accepted the offer and funds are no longer available. 

What can I do to become eligible for future cash offers?

To be eligible for future cash offers from UpTogether, please take the following steps*:

What if I don’t have anyone to start a group with? 

Groups can include friends, extended family members, colleagues, neighbors, or acquaintances. Anyone who wants to join together to support each other with your respective goals would make a great group member! Groups can be as small as two, but most offers have a minimum group size of four.
