Am I eligible to apply?

To be eligible for the Austin RISE 2.0 fund, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Are age 18 or older
  • Have not received assistance of more than $1,000 in the last 30 days for rent/mortgage, car payment, utilities or household expenses
  • Have a household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level 
  • Live in the city of Austin, Texas, or Travis County or both 
  • Have experienced a COVID-19 hardship, including:
    • Lost job/had hours and/or income reduced due to COVID-19
    • Have taken an unpaid leave to:
      • Care for a vulnerable or infected relative
      • School or daycare closures 
      • Having to wait for COVID test result
      • COVID illness

You will also need to provide an unexpired proof of identification, such as:

  • Driver's license
  • Government-issued identification card
  • Passport

The application process is closed.  Applications are being screened for eligibility and the eligible applications will be selected at random for a final review.  Reviews will be started on September 28th and applicants will be notified starting that date through October 26th if they were approved or denied. Once the funds have been dispersed, those not selected will receive notification.
